Editor's Note: Our friend Joe Burgers a.k.a. @bakerandthebeerd brings us his take on this month's curdbox and his beer-ish thoughts each month. If you're a fan of beer and cheese, this is the blog for you! And if you want to join our merry band of cheese lovers, head on over to our subscription page to sign up for your monthly box!

March is National Women’s month, and Curdbox is celebrating women owners and producers with their Sugar Mama box. I paired this stellar collection of cheeses and snacks with  Schramm’s Marionberry mead in honor of their CEO and Co-founder Alyson Schramm Naeger.

Dipping into the box, Vermont Creamery clover blossom honey chèvre should be a staple for any cheese lover. My favorite bite in the box was this sweet and creamy goat cheese with Jam Stand fig tamarind jam on Lark cherry pistachio shortbreads. In fact, I devoured those shortbreads embarrassingly quickly.

Schramm’s Marionberry is a lusciously thick and sweet mead made with Marion blackberries and orange blossom honey. Alternating sips of this mead with bites of the Chocolate Therapy’s dark chocolate truffle bar is pure, decadent bliss.

Marieke aged raw milk Gouda is another long time personal favorite, with a slightly sweet, buttery flavor. This cheese also excelled on those addictively delicious cherry pistachio shortbreads.

Finally, the 3-year Hook’s Cheddar comes from Julie Hook, the only woman to have won the World Championship Cheese Contest. This sharp cheddar is a fine example of her work, bursting with robust flavor.

Bravo to the women behind Curdbox and each of these amazing products, you all continue to inspire!
