WELCOME TO THE COZY CABIN SEASON CURDBOX!
Grab your coziest sweater and your favorite person because we're heading North!
This month’s box is inspired by a classic New England fall getaway: crisp air, golden leaves, and the comfort of gathering around the fire with good food and even better company. I’m Julianne, the Co-Founder and new owner of Curdbox, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this box with you. When I dreamed up this curation, I wanted it to feel like an escape—a mix of cozy, familiar flavors and a few adventurous ones to keep things interesting. Together, these flavors capture what I love most about this season: warmth, comfort, and a little bit of adventure. So light a candle, pour a glass of cider, turn on our Cozy Cabin playlist, and let this month’s box be your fireside getaway—no cabin required.
So, let’s take a look at what we have for you, in this month‘s box...
Nancy's Hudson Valley Camembert by Old Chatham
Nancy’s Hudson Valley Camembert, from Old Chatham, is a soft-ripened cheese that captures both elegance and warmth in every bite. Crafted with a thoughtful blend of Shepherd’s Way sheep’s milk, and Ridgecrest Dairy cow’s milk—it offers a texture that evolves beautifully with age. When young, its texture is semi-soft and satiny, giving way to a smoother, creamier layer just beneath the rind. As it matures, the rind develops a delicate, mushroomy character that gently deepens the cheese’s naturally buttery, well-balanced flavor, while the center remains complex and refined. Named after the original owner, Nancy’s Camembert has become a true expression of Hudson Valley craftsmanship—decadent, approachable, and full of character.
Cabot Clothbound Cheddar by Jasper Hill Farm
Cabot Clothbound Cheddar is the result of a remarkable collaboration between Vermont’s Cabot Creamery and the Cellars at Jasper Hill, where time and tradition transform it into something truly special. Each wheel is bandaged in cloth and sealed with lard in the old English style, then left to mature in Jasper Hill’s caves until it’s perfect. The result is a handsome, natural-rinded cheddar with a texture that crumbles delicately, and a hint of crystalline crunch. Its aroma carries notes of toasted nuts, while the flavor weaves together layers of savory broth, a gentle tang, and a lingering sweetness reminiscent of caramel. Approachable, yet full of character—it perfectly reflects the craftsmanship and care that goes into northeast artisan cheesemaking.
Bayley Hazen Blue by Jasper Hill Farm
Another Vermont original from Jasper Hill, this is named after the historic Bayley Hazen Road that runs through the state’s Northeast Kingdom. This natural-rinded blue is made from raw cow’s milk and develops a dense, fudge-like texture that’s both creamy and slightly crumbly. Blue veins wind gracefully through the paste, offering a gentle spice that gives way to flavors of toasted nuts, sweet cream, and earthy grass. Notes of cocoa and hazelnut linger in the background, adding depth without harshness. With its rich, balanced character and nod to the traditional English Stilton—Bayley Hazen Blue stands as both a tribute to old-world cheesemaking and a proud expression of the Vermont landscape.
And here are the pairing items that go along with these amazing cheeses…
Smoked Maple Syrup by Sugar Bob's
Sugar Bob’s Smoked Maple Syrup is pure Vermont maple transformed by the quiet intensity of real wood smoke. Made with nothing more than pure maple syrup slowly infused with the smoke of burning maple wood, it captures an essence that is both rustic and refined. The process uses a pumice stone to gently filter the smoke into the syrup, creating a flavor that’s entirely natural—without shortcuts or artificial additions. The result feels elevated yet comforting, with layers of sweetness and a lingering smokiness reminiscent of fireside nights in autumn.
** A little goes a long way! This maple syrup packs a campfire-level smokiness — think more "finishing touch” than “pancake pour.” Start with just a drizzle or a drop, and if it’s too bold for your taste, mix it with regular maple syrup or save the rest to stir into a bourbon cocktail later (trust us, it’s magic). **
Sliced Lonza by Vermont Salumi
Vermont Salumi’s Sliced Lonza is a celebration of simple ingredients transformed through time-honored tradition. Starting with the whole pork tenderloin, the meat is carefully tumbled with rosemary, thyme, oregano, and fresh garlic before resting and aging to perfection. Over the course of months, the lean cut develops a smooth, silky texture and a rich, herb-laced character that feels both bright and earthy. With its balanced combination of savory lean meat and delicate fat—this lonza reflects the heritage of Italian curing and northeast craftsmanship.
Salted Caramel Popcorn by Annie B's
Annie B’s Salted Caramel Popcorn is a sweet and salty take on an all-time classic snack. Fluffy kernels are wrapped in rich, buttery caramel and dusted with a touch of sea salt, creating a flavor that’s both balanced and addictive. Crafted in small batches and packed fresh to order, this popcorn captures the spirit of a timeless treat that’s been elevated with thoughtful care.
And with that, we hope you enjoy your box—and we‘ll see you next time.
